STARTING OVER!

STARTING OVER!

What does it mean to start over?
Starting over means STOPING and
REASSESSING our Lives. It means to begin something new. When it comes to our lives, that could mean taking a new direction, or path while focusing on the future with faith, hope and a new purpose in life. God loves each and everyone of us and he wants us to live good and joyful lives.

So how do we start over with God? The first thing we should do is go to our father, with humbleness and humility. The second thing we should do is to confess our sins and ask for forgiveness in honesty and in truth. The third thing we should do is SURRENDER ourselves and all that we are to God. And finally, we should develop a personal relationship with God through prayer and worship.

Isaiah 43:25-6 reads, “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. Put me in remembrance; let us argue together; set forth your case, that you may be proved right”.

Starting over isn’t something easily done and it isn’t supposed to be. Sometimes, it even means letting go of everything. But when God want’s us to start over, it is always for our own good. Yes, things might become really hard and we might start asking ourselves, “why did i take this step in the first place? “Did i make the right decision?”. The feeling of doubt, and confusion becomes all too real. These feelings keep us shackled and they put a stop to our progress. Our fear of failure and of the unknown becomes a reality. We start thinking of the things we had before. Our families, friends, co-workers and even properties. We completely forget that whatever we let go off for Jesus Christ will be given back to us in this lifetime a hundred folds. Our Lord is the God of impossibilities and possibilities, therefore there is nothing too great or small for him to give . He can replace all that has been lost and even bless us in ways that we could’ve never imagined.

Luke 18:29-30 reads, ” And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the age to come eternal life.”

Isaiah 43:18-19 reads, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert”.

HIS GUIDANCE!

When we allow God to guide us, our relationship with him grows. Our belief, confidence, trust and faith increases. We all go through things in our lives, but one thing we should always remember is that God is faithful. He always keeps his promises and he never lies. God want’s us to lean on his understanding. He want’s us to walk with faith, knowing that he will always provide everything we need.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reads, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths”.

ADVANTAGES OF STARTING OVER WITH GOD!

1. Learning new things.
2. A deeper understanding of God, the Gospel and life.
3. Freedom.
4. INNER healing. ( Deliverance )
5. Excitement.
6. Experience.

Suffering brings endurance, endurance builds character and character brings forth hope.

Jeremiah 29:11 reads, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”.

RESIST THE TEMPTATION!
Sometimes we are tempted to give up. We feel exhausted, and burned out. The enemy throws thoughts of defeat in our minds, making us believe that we would never accomplish what we set out to do. But that’s not true.

But take the life of a 1 year old child for example. At that age, some of the biggest challenges they face, is walking and talking. Everytime they stumble and fall, they get back up. They start over without fear or hesitation. They repeat this cycle until they are successful at walking. The same can be said for talking. Everytime they try to speak, their words are unclear. They end up making different sounds with the expectation that they’ll be understood. They do this over and over again until one today, they begin to speak. They might not say much, but a simple Mommy and Daddy is victory in itself.

We’ve all gone through this stage before and many of us were successful. We stuck with the process and eventually achieved success. We didn’t give up then and we shouldn’t give up now. I know it’s hard and it’s easier said than done. But when we apply the same patience and endurance as little one years do, then we too will be successful. Patience is a blessing from God,  and life is a journey. And all who are patient with the Lord will eventually arrive at their destination. We will be successful!

Job 8:7 reads, “And though your beginning was small, your latter days will be very great.”

Fun fact :- Did you know that a 1 year old child learning how to walk, falls an average of 17 times in an hour? How many of us can say that we have tried to do something and failed 17 times in one hour and kept going? Believe it or not, there are things that even we as adults can learn from children. God is good!

In conclusion, we don’t always know where we are going or what our next steps will be. But we can be sure that our father in heaven will always be with us no matter where we go. Our journey does not end until our father says so. Therefore, do not be afraid of starting over. Do not be afraid to walk the path which God has paved for you. Our God is mighty. Glory be to God.

Romans 8:28 reads, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose”.

Our father in heaven, thank you for all that you do in our lives. Thank you for your patience, generosity and teachings. We pray that our relationship with you continues to grow in love and in truth. We glorify and exalt your name. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

You are all Blessed.
