MIRACLES IN OUR LIVES!
Have you ever heard of the saying “believing is seeing”? If so, know that through faith all things are possible. Nothing is impossible for God.
Luke 18:27 reads, “But he said, “What is impossible with men is possible with God”.
Miracles! What is a miracle?
A miracle is an act or event that is inexplicable by natural or scientific laws.
A miracle is something only God can do. A miracle heals, comforts and puts a smile on our faces. Which then leaves us with a feeling of gratification and wonders. Often times, we are left speechless with many questions. We constantly ponder and wonder why me? How come?. The only suitable answer, is that God loves us. The love of God is the reason he blesses us with miracles while he expects nothing in return. That’s right! There are no strings attached. But why does he do this? why does he continually bless his children. The answer is love! When we love someone, we seek to provide, comfort, and shoulder their burdens. A miracle from God is pure, it is healing, and free.
1 kings 17:2-6 reads, “Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.” So he went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook”.
When Prophet Elijah was hiding from Ahab, the Lord provided for his needs. He commanded the ravens to feed him everyday and he drank from a small brook (small stream).
MIRACLES DON’T ALWAYS HAPPEN IN CHURCHES!
Miracles happen everyday but sometimes we fail to notice them. We often label them as luck instead of blessings because we don’t want to acknowledge that there is a higher power involved. And as a result, we fail to notice the presence of God.
NOTE:- There is no such thing as LUCK.
The bible is filled with miracles. Jesus Christ, the Apostles and his disciples all performed many miracles. From healing the sick, feeding the poor, to casting out unclean spirits and demons. God has continually used the hands of human beigns to do his work. Even today, there are many people that perform miracles for others. Ordinary people helping and doing what they can for each other. Even the poorest of the poor can perform a miracle for someone else.
Matthew 14 :15-21 reads, “When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.” But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” He said, “Bring them here to Me.” Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children”.
Here we see Jesus Christ feeding the multitudes. He had just received news of his cousin’s death. John The Baptist. So he sought to be alone but the multitudes followed him on foot. When evening came the multitudes had not eaten, so he asked his disciples to feed them. But they said to him “We only have 5 loaves and 2 fish”. Jesus took the food and blessed it and everyone ate till they were full. By the end of it he had fed more than 5000 people and still had left over food. Jesus Christ was by no means rich according to the standards of this world. In fact, he grew up in poverty. And God used him to bless so many.
HIS MIRACLES THROUGH US!
A good deed can be considered a miracle. When we give with love and cheerfulness, we allow ourselves to connect with God and to others. Blessing them with the kindness and love that we have been blessed with. Personally, i believe that everyone has experienced a miracle or two in their lifetime. The size of a miracle is irrelevant because what means little to You or I, may mean something big to someone else. We’ve all had moments where we’ve found ourselves feeling sad, depressed, anxious and desperate. Or found ourselves in situations that seemed hopeless. But in what seems like an instant…A moment frozen in time, something wonderful and unexpected happens. All of a sudden, the answers to our problems or situations are revealed. Unexplainable but yet very much welcomed. A miracle happens! We say things like “OMG”, “WOW” or “THANK GOD” because we are utterly filled with shock, surprise and gratefulness. Finally, we feel as though we can breathe a sigh of relief. Our God is good.
In conclusion, miracles are blessings from God. They are evidence of the love that God has for us and no one can seperate us from his love.
Romans 8:38-39 reads, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
Father God, we thank you for your love and blessings. We thank you for all the things you do for us. Father, please continue to guide, protect and bless us with your presence in our lives. We glorify and exalt your name. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
You are all Blessed.
